@juanra: Thanks! Greetings to you as well.
Terrific composition, soft muted light and grainy feel adding texture.

@Kevin at OrganicPIX.com: thanks. it was actually a very smooth piece of wood so it took a little work to bring out the texture -- it's amazing what a little sharpening can do.
GREAT tones and details!!

@Jen: thanks a lot!
Awesome shot, quite abstract

@JV: thank you. i guess i'm not sure what abstract means. i put this in the abstract category probably for the same reason you refer to it that way. but at the same time, i find that kind of confusing because it's a relatively realistic-looking photo.
tout un monde entre 4 vis! superbe!

@lasiate: the online translator i used says you said, "whole world between 4 screws! superb!" Thank you!! Please visit again!
Sweet detail!

nice. I like the slightly surreal feel (probably due to a combination of composition, colour, post-processing) and the lower left screw which has been gouged into the wood - the slight imperfection/asymmetry adds to the image's appeal.

@baobab: thanks a lot for all the substantive feedback! i agree about that one screw that's gouged into the wood, i think it gives it more interesting texture.
That is almost too good. The detail, the light, the wonderful tones.

@Michael Rawluk: wow. that's very nice of you.
I love the subject from the thumbnail, but when you see the photo enlarged, the detail blows you away. Great Job!
