@Frank: thanks a lot! i'm very glad you like it. @lasiate: it seems like many people got that feeling from it, that it's a passage to another world (i think that's what you said), but i was just trying to make it more dramatic. thanks for your comment and visit! Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful warm glow ... great reflections and shadows ... very nice perspective. Your PP turned this one from an ordinary, rather flat shot into a great shot! 29 Feb 2008 11:13am @Ron: thanks a lot, Ron! HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesWow, great lighting. And it has a heavenly glow to it. I feel like I died and this is the lighted tunnel I am walking down. :) 29 Feb 2008 11:38am @HorseRotorVator: yeah, i guess it does sort of give that feeling... but the reflections of the red on the walls helps too ;) Pedro Callealta from Cádiz, Spainuna foto espectacular, con unos colores y una profundidad geniales 29 Feb 2008 11:52am @Pedro Callealta: thank you, Pedro! Melissa from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThe lighting and orange glow are insane! (in a very good way) :) I love the placement of the chair and I especially love the shadows on the ceiling and the reflection of the light on the floor. It makes you wonder what's on the other side of the door. This image kinda gives me goosebumps...it's a little creepy and foreboding. 29 Feb 2008 1:58pm @Melissa: thanks a lot for your kind comment, Melissa! actually, on the other side of the door is one of those other stairwells that were referred to as better to use during an earthquake in my post two days ago. :) Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesReally excellent. I love this shot... mesmerizing. 3 Mar 2008 4:20am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI like this shot. It has a neat glow. How was it processed? 4 Mar 2008 11:20pm @Twelvebit: thanks. Most of the glow was there to begin with. Basically, I upped the shadows in the 'tuning' section in Picasa, then in photoshop I used part of the technique in this tutorial that was on the aminus3 news page a long time ago. Specifically, i sharpened, created a gaussian blur layer at lowered percentage opacity with it's layer property changed from "Normal" to "Multiply", created a layer mask ('reveal all') and cut through the main part of the hallway so that the outside and the chair and its shadow were darker, then I added a vignette to focus the eye towards the center. |
