EARLY SPRING FLOWERS SERIES 9 of 16 -- this series is likely to be interrupted on various days. (these are all from 2008)
WINNER OF THE DAY: SO FAR it's Sherri. Who suggested blackberry bush flowers. Though this was more of a tree than a bush and the images I found online of blackberry blossoms look very different. Any other suggestions or information confirming this one are welcomed. Thanks to Sherri for her help!
first person who can correctly tell me what kind of flower this is wins (a thank you and a link to your blog is the best i can do for a prize). i don't know the answer (horrible with flower names) which is why i would like to find out.
from looking at some of your blogs i can tell that not everyone is so fortunate to have flowers blooming in their parts of the world now and many are itching for spring time, so i decided to walk around and photograph different flowers. i haven't had a chance to do much of any processing on these aside from a few minutes in picasa. hope you enjoy them!
any tips on photographing flowers? composition is especially much harder than it looks in nature and i already noticed some of the bright reds seem to get a sort of glare on them and some of the lighter ones got washed out. apologies in advance if some of them didn't come out very sharp, etc. there are some i might normally have thrown out but i also wanted to find out what these different flowers are called.
Comments, feedback, criticism, suggestions, etc. are always appreciated. Thanks! Image too large? Click the 'small' link in the bottom right corner for a smaller view.

Sorry, don't know the flowers, but the leaves look like the wild peppermint that grows in the ditch in front of my house. (No, not now, still piles of snow...)

@yiannis krikis: Thanks a lot, Yiannis! but it doesn't seem to be a very popular series. people seem to prefer my macro sepia photos of mundane objects.
Well, well, this one is quite intriguing. The leaves look like a Blackberry bush and the flowers are extremely close to the blooms of a Blackberry bush. If it's not a Blackberry bush, it's close kin. Very nice image.

@sherri: Thanks. But I'm not sure. I looked up blackberry blossoms online and I found pictures like this one, which looks very different to me.
Beautiful and delicate capture!

Haven't a clue, but I do like the course texture of the leaves against the softness of the blossoms. You may have to go back in a month and see if fruit is forming.

I'm totally baffled by this little flower, I've searched to see what I could find ( I love a challenge lol ) but I can't find it anywhere. I love the series and the challenges :)
