Those trees are very interesting and from this angle they look intimidating which is perhaps why the bench is vacant? I'd be afraid the trees would attack! Just kidding of course.

Those close-cropped trees look almost threatening . . anyone sitting there should glance over their shoulder from time to time!

@Ronnie 2¢: that seems to be a common reaction to this shot. i guess i thought they looked really weird the first time i saw them too, but the place is really a very peaceful place to sit, when it's not a tourist attraction.
Very nice shot ... great angle. You live in an exotic land with odd, but beautiful, trees...

Reminds me of the "platanes" that give shade to the little town squares at the "Côte d'Azur" in France. That's where the oldtimers play their bocce balls...

Ah, I should've seen this longer exposure shot first. I am a landscape architect so I kind of enjoy identify the type of tree from their silouette. They really add characteristic to a neighborhood!
