@Scarabaeus: thanks! not quite, it was almost night, very late evening and this was in the shade on top of that.
I'm not sure about the significants of the graffiti but the texture is great!

Like the mosaic quality of the stone aggregate in the sidewalk and the vignette feature of the light! Suppose it doesn't matter what the "no" stands for (British Petroleum, Blood Pressure, Blanched Peas ;-)

@Kevin from OrganicPIX.com: thanks. i like your list of possible "BP" meanings, but i think the person responsible for the graffiti was referring to British Petroleum.
A disgruntled shareholder perhaps? Sort of a strange way to get a message out. Interesting texture.

Interesting shot. I also like the mosaic look of the sidewalk...interesting texture. Thanks for the link. My initial thought was that it may have stood for British Petroleum (but not for the reason in the link)...but as a nurse I had to chuckle at the blood pressure remark. ;)

An interesting debate you've instigated, here ... I like Ronnie 2¢'s suggestion and agree with you that it's a strange way to get a message out – vandalism and violence are counter-productive (my opinion). It is, indeed, an interesting texture that you've captured here.
