i was going to title it untitled power lines, but then i realized i wasn't sure if these are for phone lines or power lines...

Power lines I would think looking at those isolators . . I’ve often looked up at stuff like that and imagined a whole photoblog on the subject! There’s an intriguing awkwardness in having all that technology up there on a wooden pole, too.

Power lines. This structure is called a "double dead end." The voltage between wires --from any one wire to any other wire-- is probably about 12,500 volts; and the voltage from any one wire to ground is probably about 7,200 volts.

Nice image, I like the light quality, the colours and the close crop.
How come your images are always called 'untitled' but have a title immediately following? Am I missing a joke there?

no, no joke. they're untitled because i can't think of good titles, but i follow it by a description of what's in the photo for the purposes of not giving every single image the same (un)title. although occasionally there is a double meaning, like with the one called 'untitled human remains.' good question!
