@drphoto: thanks a lot! i had a lot of trouble with the sharpening though. i think i shouldn't have done any sharpening in picasa, normally i like how it sharpens better than photoshop (as strange as that sounds, i usually end up oversharpening or undersharpening with photoshop) but this time it kept getting pixelated.

@Scarabaeus: thanks! i'm actually the blob of a shadow left of the car's shadow. but now that i look at it, it does sort of look like there's another person getting out of the car

Beautiful old tree - the golden light of the sunset provides wonderful illumination of it as well as casting your shadow!

@Ron: Thank you! Well, in this particular shot it was planned. I was trying to take a shot of the tree (I have other photos of it I haven't processed yet) and I was getting annoyed that my shadow was in the way and then it occurred to me that I could do this self-portrait series. (don't count on me actually putting a photo of my face online)

Great time of day to take this shot. Planned it, right? The self-portrait, I mean... heh. Don't worry about pixilation in this one; sharpening brings out the individual plants in the field, but that's a good thing.
