@Rags: thanks! it could probably use a new paint job but fortunately that doesn't show up in this shot ;) @Frank: thanks a lot, Frank! Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesNice light you've caught yourself in! 5 May 2008 9:34am @Craig: thanks, Craig--i have to admit the light looks a lot better after the processing... Anthony from Bielefeld, GermanyIntentional ? or spotted later !! Nice long evening shadows. 5 May 2008 1:49pm @Anthony: Intentional. Thanks for your comments! John Maslowski from Dallas,PA, United StatesGreat shot and nice shadow effect. Like the idea for a self-portrait, great composition. 5 May 2008 2:25pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceI like it a lot - you have a great shadow 5 May 2008 3:15pm Oeilonirique from FranceI like these satured blue and green colors of this picture. 5 May 2008 7:34pm drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomGreat light, love the colours! Dan 5 May 2008 8:02pm @drphoto: thanks a lot! i had a lot of trouble with the sharpening though. i think i shouldn't have done any sharpening in picasa, normally i like how it sharpens better than photoshop (as strange as that sounds, i usually end up oversharpening or undersharpening with photoshop) but this time it kept getting pixelated. Scarabaeus from Manchester, United KingdomThe colours are great also I like the shadows that are just visible. Is one of them you? 5 May 2008 8:27pm @Scarabaeus: thanks! i'm actually the blob of a shadow left of the car's shadow. but now that i look at it, it does sort of look like there's another person getting out of the car standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceVery nice idea for a self-portrait. I love the colours! 5 May 2008 9:06pm vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaI agree about the light, very nice. As for the pixelation, it's not too bad... (Yes, I'm back from my trip!) 5 May 2008 9:08pm Kevin from OrganicPIX.com from DFW, Texas, United StatesBeautiful old tree - the golden light of the sunset provides wonderful illumination of it as well as casting your shadow! 5 May 2008 9:26pm GJC from Kyoto, JapanI like the light and I also like the other scene here in the shadows -- you getting out of your car for the shot. A classic photographer! 5 May 2008 9:26pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful golden light and long shadows ... what I want to know is was this (self portrait) your plan with the shot or just serendipity? 5 May 2008 10:12pm @Ron: Thank you! Well, in this particular shot it was planned. I was trying to take a shot of the tree (I have other photos of it I haven't processed yet) and I was getting annoyed that my shadow was in the way and then it occurred to me that I could do this self-portrait series. (don't count on me actually putting a photo of my face online) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesGreat time of day to take this shot. Planned it, right? The self-portrait, I mean... heh. Don't worry about pixilation in this one; sharpening brings out the individual plants in the field, but that's a good thing. 5 May 2008 10:15pm Observing from Chester, United KingdomThe intenseness of that sunset really makes this photo. Looks a nice landscape too. 5 May 2008 10:16pm @Observing: thank you! sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI see you:-) Nice one. Love the sunlight. 5 May 2008 11:37pm Sean from Champaign, United StatesNice lighting in this shot. I like the warm tones. 6 May 2008 2:57am Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThe light is absolutely gorgeous! Love the idea of the self-portrait (I'll have to remember that). Great job! 6 May 2008 2:34pm |
