Such beautiful specimens of Hereford cattle in such a lovely setting. 30 Jun 2008 1:40pm Cybasumo from Georgia, United StatesNice work! the cows really done a good pose at that tree! 30 Jun 2008 2:33pm Jonas from Vitória, BrazilI love this buccolic capture. The position of the cows and their proportion in relation to the landscape seems to me excellent. Light and colours are beautiful, too. 30 Jun 2008 2:59pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecevery hi image quality - I like the theme and the lighting very much 30 Jun 2008 6:10pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceWonderful pastoral shot. Colours and lighting are superb! 30 Jun 2008 7:20pm Observing from Local, United KingdomGreat image, the color is gorgeous. Brilliant definition too. 30 Jun 2008 8:54pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United States#30 from my checking just now --out of, what, 32,000 or thereabouts? You know, you got me going with ratings on vfxy, and had me all screwed up for awhile. I got to looking at the "metrics" there and thinking how an image would "play" instead of just posting what I felt like posting. Finally I decided that since I have no idea or what people like or don't like --that I only know what I like-- I'm just going to post what I like and ignore how it is received --not only in terms of imagery, but in terms of commentary as well. I simply cannot look at any of these popularity metrics without being influenced. If you can, or if it moves you in a direction that you like, more power to you. I find it moves me in a direction I don't like. 30 Jun 2008 11:16pm @Twelvebit: Well said. As I recall, I tried to warn you about that... Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesOk, let me clarify a couple of things: 1) I should have said, I got to looking at the metrics and it screwed me up for awhile, not that you had me all screwed up; and 2) when I say "ignore the reception" in terms of imagery and commentary, I don't mean I intend to ignore criticism that helps me develop my photography. You've made some critical remarks, like, for instance, suggesting I crop out some distracting element from a photo, and I've many times considered your suggestions and decided that an image would indeed be improved.. I just mean that if people don't like or respond to an image or something I say, as a matter of taste, I'm not going to post something seeking a more popular response. 30 Jun 2008 11:25pm @Twelvebit: thanks for the clarification but that's actually pretty much how i interpreted your comment to begin with :) Bhavin from Mississauga, CanadaVery well composed. I really like how everything here fits together. Whats even more impressive is that I thought it was done by an SLR camera but no its a camera I told my friend to get last year, the Sony W55. Nice work...a favourite for me. 1 Jul 2008 1:34am @Bhavin: thanks! that's very nice of you Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaThis is such a lovely photograph! Fantastic composition! 1 Jul 2008 3:08am Lunamania from Oakland, United StatesThis picture made me laugh out loud. Great composition and sense of humor. And, thanks for the heads up about the buggy comments. I think all is working now... 1 Jul 2008 7:09am Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoFunny how this seems to break compositional "rules" but yet works nicely. I guess it's the pair of cows that bring balance. I like it. 1 Jul 2008 8:32pm @Luis A. De Jesus R.: thanks! very glad you like it :) Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaThere's something about your compositions and presentation style that gives your images a very special look, and this one is a great example of that. If I have to say any more to convince anyone of this, that means they've missed the point! 2 Jul 2008 5:15am @Andrew Gould: wow, thanks a lot! that's very kind of you! GJC from Kyoto, JapanReally like the strong composition and the colors have a flat quality that is quite intriguing. Nice work. 3 Jul 2008 3:37am Sean from Champaign, United StatesIt's like you've caught them doing something they're not supposed to be doing. Think they're making a break for it? 3 Jul 2008 2:52pm Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesInteresting composition...I like it. I also like the processing of the colors and (of course) the light. :) 3 Jul 2008 4:34pm Kevin from OrganicPIX.com from DFW, Texas, United StatesSuch a calming image – love the cows flanking he old tree – such a contrast from the previous scene – hope this area is spared of wildfire calamity. 14 Jul 2008 2:55am |
