Makes me excited about baseball. Let's go METS! This macro shot is excellent and such a creative way to present an everyday object. I like that patch of green too.

@Lunamania: thanks! i decided to photograph the ball in its natural habitat and taking a picture of it in the air was a challenge i wasn't quite ready for, so i went for the grass :)

I just got some cheap macro filters. The +10 is awesome in power but so far I haven't managed to get anything sharp enough to satisfy me. I need to experiment more before I can say whether it's due to the cheap optics or an unsteady hand. But, if you're into the macro stuff, you might want to see if you can pick something like that up for your camera --I was filling about 50% of the frame with tiny fungal growths on tree bark that were less than 1/8th inch in diameter.
