Lunamania from Oakland, United StatesMakes me excited about baseball. Let's go METS! This macro shot is excellent and such a creative way to present an everyday object. I like that patch of green too. 11 Jul 2008 1:37pm @Lunamania: thanks! i decided to photograph the ball in its natural habitat and taking a picture of it in the air was a challenge i wasn't quite ready for, so i went for the grass :) Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesFantastic texture and detail! Great composition, too! 11 Jul 2008 2:34pm @Melissa W.: thank you, Melissa! sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI love how this fills the frame. Nice to see so closely the materials with which it is made. 11 Jul 2008 11:58pm Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaInteresting detail that close up. Good framing. 12 Jul 2008 2:14am Sean from Champaign, United StatesAwesome shot! Love the rough details of the leather and stitching. Nicely done. 12 Jul 2008 2:44am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesI really like this photo, Dan...It brings back lots of little league memories. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 12 Jul 2008 4:06am Jim (365,000 words) from Hunnebostrand, SwedenNot much to add that hasn't already been said... but the processing really brings out the texture nicely and the depth of field works well. 12 Jul 2008 7:45am ReallyJapan from Tokyo, JapanFantastic post processing.. the colors are amazing! 14 Jul 2008 1:56am Kevin from OrganicPIX.com from DFW, Texas, United StatesNeat macro, but ouch, reminds me of the way they used to stitch up after surgery! 14 Jul 2008 3:16am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI just got some cheap macro filters. The +10 is awesome in power but so far I haven't managed to get anything sharp enough to satisfy me. I need to experiment more before I can say whether it's due to the cheap optics or an unsteady hand. But, if you're into the macro stuff, you might want to see if you can pick something like that up for your camera --I was filling about 50% of the frame with tiny fungal growths on tree bark that were less than 1/8th inch in diameter. 14 Jul 2008 3:54pm |
