saeed from ahwaz, Irancomposition is excellent! lights are really beautiful! well done 14 Jul 2008 11:23am Marcie from United StatesLove how you've captured the light - not just on the building..but looking thru it to the other side. Well done! 14 Jul 2008 11:58am Denis from Martinique, MartiniqueNice play with the light... I am not surprised, you are clever for this ! 14 Jul 2008 1:09pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesWow ... that is magnificent light and a beautifully composed image! 14 Jul 2008 1:09pm Klaus from Augsburg, GermanyDanthro .. great .. i love the blue hour .. so amazing mood 14 Jul 2008 3:08pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesLooks like you've got some lens flare. I had a cheap UV filter on my lens that was wreaking havoc. I replaced it with a better filter and reduced the problem, but for night shots --with point light sources-- I have to take it off. 14 Jul 2008 3:40pm @Twelvebit: what do you mean by 'lens flare'? if you mean the red spots of light on the wall, i'm not positive (took this a long time ago), but i think they may have actually been there. yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecethe lighting is really great - excellent colors 14 Jul 2008 6:25pm Jonas from Vitória, BrazilBeautiful light of late afternoon. I specially like the way our eyes may enter the building and try to imagine how it is inside. 14 Jul 2008 7:41pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceYou captured the light perfectly here! I like the composition. 14 Jul 2008 7:53pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesWhat a terrific light you've capture streaming through this structure. It's beautiful. 15 Jul 2008 3:40am Lunamania from Oakland, United StatesThat spot of red through the windows really makes this image special. Creative and well-crafted! 15 Jul 2008 4:45am Sean from Champaign, United StatesGreat sky you've captured framing the building. 15 Jul 2008 4:01pm baobab from Cambridge, United Statesnice light! the corner of the building in the upper left is a little distracting (cough, who am I to comment on things in the upper left...) I really like the way the light is shining through... have been looking at everything lit up recently. Assuming that you're still using the same camera sans tripod the shot seems too sharp for that equipment - did you sharpen in pp? It gives it an edgy hyperreal comic book / video game feel. I like that and wonder what it would look like if you went the other way and made it more impressionistic? 16 Jul 2008 1:43am @baobab: baobab! it's great to hear from you. i hope all is well. Kevin from OrganicPIX.com from DFW, Texas, United StatesVery nice - the photograph provides a sense of wonderment and desire to explore the illuminated building. 16 Jul 2008 4:47pm baobab from Cambridge, United Stateshmm... e had a lovely impressionistic shot a while ago. will see if I can find it again for you. sorry I can't offer any PS advice: I have a shrink-wrapped copy of Creative Suite 3 that has been sitting unopened since April. although impressionism technically speaking is anything that veers away from strict reality, I was thinking this shot might also look good if you softened the building etc. with a Monet-like effect. dslrs can be overrated - I went for a photowalk yesterday for the first time in ages and felt like a beginner when it came to the relative basics. fiddling with all the technical stuff can distract from the true art of photography which imo is seeing light and composition. the simple small cameras are good for that too. I'm okay: have been swallowed up by life for a while, not always in the best of ways, but that's life :). nice to have friends on aminus3 who still visit my blog and are happy to see me despite my extended absence. 16 Jul 2008 7:37pm Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThe light is gorgeous! Love the light coming through the windows. Great capture! 16 Jul 2008 8:24pm |
