I like how you composed an interesting image from an everyday subject and that light is gorgeous.

Nice warm tones .. great PP.

I love this. You're really terrific at capturing these "looking up" shots.

Great light here, the lamp pole imposes the picture.

Love your perspective. From your ground view - it looks as if the lamppost is extra-long. Well seen and captured.

I agree with Marcie. Nice low perspective and I like how it makes the lamp seen really long. I also like the warmth of the lighting here.

I like the image a lot - the warm light ... the low perspective ... the interesting shapes and forms. I suppose the one thing that detracts from the overall image for me is the brightness in the wedge on the left side. If you could somehow pull the contrast down a hair there (maybe using a warm gradient adjustment layer) it would bring it all together nicely.
I'm a fan of Pouhou's work, as well ... especially his/her architectural photography.

@Ron: thanks. i like the composition but it feels like it's missing something, and i think you're right about the brightness issue. thanks again!
That your patio?

@Twelvebit: i wish! no, it's the same building many of my architectural shots are of.
Very interesting angle and nice composition

I'm just happy Ralph Nader is not standing next to that light pole. Kidding! Terrific sense of place, perspective and processing.

@Kevin from OrganicPIX.com: thanks. lol, well, i'll probably see him speak again sometime in the next few weeks and i'll be sure to have my camera with me, and i'm hoping he'll be in better lighting, but either way i'll certainly post some of the results :)
A great angle, interesting details, and wonderful light. It's a beauty..!

Love the angle of this shot. Beautiful composition, like the colors and tones here. BTW I have a new url: sirius2photography.com

Love the nostalgic mood there. If you work a new version of it, maybe you could modify a little bit the angle the post makes, to set it quite vertical.

nice vantage point and light. the tree branches and lamppost interfere with one another slightly... could you have moved a step or two to have the lamp with a background of only leaves and sky?
btw, this very wide angle is one of the big advantages your small camera has over DSLRs. my 18mm zoom is effectively a 27 mm (due to the 1.5x digital factor - most DSLRs are not full frame) and really wide angle lenses are rather expensive - typically close to $1,000 for good glass.
when shooting up like this - or down for that matter - with a DSLR one tends to get pointy buildings even at the widest angle on a typical versatile lens.

@baobab: thanks. i'm not sure exactly. i was standing on these stairs to get this shot, but it's a good idea. maybe if i'm back there sometime i'll give it a shot. ...and thanks for making me feel better about my camera :)
Gorgeous light! I really like the POV and angle...very nice processing.
