WOW, you have an amazing eye for angle. There is so much on this picture, great capture. And as always I love your tones.

For some reason, this building has something mysterious to me. Maybe the composition, with the Z that followed my eyes to reach the door, gave me that feeling. Beautiful soft tones.

You bring out the lines of the building very nicely here.

This structure is beautiful and you've captured it so well again. I find that capturing portions of structures is always more effective than attempting the entire building at once even when they're small. This is really a fine capture.

That is a very imposing building. It has a real strong presence. Beautiful. Great lines.

Great composition - terrific fine detail and sharpness too.

This looks great in b&w ... I like the architecture.

Love your point-of-view. Nice geometry and shapes.

Good angle of view. And a luminous b&w too.

A "classic" shot!

@Neil: thanks!
Beautiful tonal range throughout the image! You've filled virtually every inch of the frame with some interesting form or detail or texture. The stairs lead me up into the image and I feel drawn to that (class)room with the overhead florescent lights illuminated. Angelique is absolutely right on ... you have an amazing eye for angle, my friend.

nice but it feels less tightly composed than your usual shots... would be a great composition for most others but I somehow miss the usual "danthro is sending me to *this* spot" feel with this shot.
(that's sort of a backhanded compliment, I think).
the thing with this shot is that my eye doesn't know where to rest - it gets pulled into and then thrown out of the picture. all the windows and opposing lines feel a little chaotic, so perhaps that's what you intended.

As always, I'm a fan of the layering, lines, and angles. Well seen.

nice use of lines to make a different elevation.

Love the lines...beautiful processing and building.

What's the conversion technique here? This has sort of a serene nostalgic mood to it.
30 Jul 2008 12:32pm
@Twelvebit: you mean b&w conversion? i converted it in picasa, not a very complicated technique--i clicked 'sepia' and then i clicked 'saturation' and desaturated it. played with the tones with levels, shadow/highlight in photoshop.
