Ralph Nader speaks in Kentfield, California. I put a clip of his speech up here.
Actor Sean Penn was in the audience, but I just have low quality video of of him from behind and the side, a frame of which can be seen here.

Anyone near Denver or Minneapolis might be interested in these open the debates events.

I can't help but feel bad for this guy. He really seems to have his heart in the right place, but corporate America has it's hands over the $%#"# of the American Legislature and the collective mind of the people. This man in some manner represents the schizophrenic struggle we have between the consumer in us and the citizen in us. As citizens we want to block legislation that brings harm to us and the environment and protect our jobs, but at the same time we consume, consume, and consume some more. The press/media really likes to bash this guy as much as it ignores him, but this only emphasizes that he has something to say and worth listening to.

It's not really funny I guess, but it seems like just about any literate person outside the US, like Luis, knows more about what is really going on in this country than the typical American. My job sometimes brings me into contact with educated foreigners, and I can't think of a single instance when these foreigners weren't better informed than supposedly educated Americans --not only about the world in general, but about the US as well, even down to strictly cultural phenomenona. The corporate culture here is absolutely destroying this country.

@Twelvebit: what's sad is how many of us who are educated enough to understand that the corporate culture is destroying the country 'rationalize our futility' (to borrow a phrase from Nader) and do nothing, or worse continue to support the corporate candidates.
