untitled elementary school closing 5

went to see someone who lives near an elementary school i attended. he mentioned it's being closed so i decided to take some photos for a series...

a basketball bouncing back off that backboard once sprained one of my fingers. sorry about the noise, it was getting dark when i took the photos.

sorry i'm not able to catch up on everyone's blogs as i'd like to, focusing on other pursuits more now.

I agree with Laurie, very nice composition. I like the setting light and the light on the windows. Nice shot. It's interesting going back...it's kinda fun to see how the playground equipment is so much smaller than what we remember. :)

You'll have to let us know how it felt to go back. I don't know if you recall, but both John and me visited our elementary schools and I've posted images. It was difficult for both of us...a stirring of good and bad memories. I like the dusk shot and looking forward to this.

I came down on a high jump bar once and hurt my back..I also bent the brand new bar by doing so and was soundly told off by the teacher as if I'd done it on purpose! I never jumped again..so there..that's my little tale of sorrow.

You have to be careful of those bouncing balls, they can do a lot of damage! You can tell the sun was getting low in the sky the way it's illuminating that first (upper) window in the background ... it's an interesting building with the upper windows (to let in light, I suppose) and on the lower level the doors with the windows ... looks like your hallways were outdoors ... a completely different model of design/architecture than the elementary schools around here.
