untitled elementary school closing 9

went to see someone who lives near an elementary school i attended. he mentioned it's being closed so i decided to take some photos for a series...

this is an outdoor 'stage' at the school. i remember when my sister's class performed a short version of 'Macbeth' here.

sorry i'm not able to catch up on everyone's blogs as i'd like to, focusing on other pursuits more now.

I remember reading Macbeth:-) Looks like a colorful building...kid friendly. Of course kids aren't friendly...at least that was my experience. Kids can be so cruel...and adults who never grow out of it are people I have no patience with. Good to know you had a sibling in the same school. I was the youngest in my family with a gap in between and was always alone. Nice capture.

@Angelique: thanks a lot. in this case it was an endless array of selective color layers, photo filter layers, and color layers on low opacity set to 'linear light' blending mode. i'm still not satisfied with it, but i got to the point where i could tolerate it, couldn't think of anything else to do to it and i don't think i've spent so much time processing a shot in a long time.

I liked how you framed this shot. I'm not trying to nit-pick but the highlights seem a little too unnatural looking for my taste...it's more noticeable with the tree and shrub than the building.

It's interesting to see how the "outdoors" are more utilized at the schools out west than in the midwest. We rarely spent time outside, except for recess.
