I go away for ten days and you are now posting living things?!? I barely recognized your blog ;-)

this is a great shot - love the texture (tar?) behind the mantis. they are among my favourite insects... when I was a teenager I found a nest and brought a lot of the babies into my bedroom for natural mosquito control. shortly thereafter I ended up with one VERY LARGE mantis :)

nice capture of the delicate colours, textures and translucence of the bug. very well-spotted for having it on such a wonderfully contrasting background.

A dead praying mantis, it seems to me. Many children like organizing fights between them. The female eats the male when copulating. Nasty children love that ;)
